How much does it cost to open for business with a Desert Moon?
The initial franchise fee is $25,000 for the first outlet and $25,000 for each one thereafter. The minimum investment ranges from $120,000 to $200,000 depending on the total “turnkey” cost. The total estimated “turnkey” investment ranges from $237,000 to $464,000.  Costs vary depending on the existing condition of the site to be occupied, as well as, its geographical location, square footage, etc.

What are the royalty fees?
The royalty is 5% of sales (taxes excluded).

What is the length of the training program?
The initial training period is 4 weeks in our training center with an additional period of assistance in opening your new franchise of 1 – 2 weeks depending upon your needs.

How long does it take to open a Desert Moon?
Typically, build out of a unit once leased should be completed within 90 days.  Once the Franchise Agreement is signed, the restaurant opening may be completed within 90 to 120 days from the time a site is leased but may vary due to other conditions.

How do I secure a lease?
Since location is one of the most important aspects of your new franchise, Desert Moon has developed a network of real estate professional across the United States. These real estate professionals have studied the needs of the quick service industry, growth areas, Desert Moon demographics and the criteria of a “great site” so as to leave nothing to chance. Desert Moon has engaged the services of a national tenant representative to assist Desert Moon franchisees in securing prime retail sites. All locations must be approved by you and the Desert Moon Real Estate Committee.

What types of franchises are available?
We are offering single and multi-unit franchise agreements.

What kinds of locations are suitable?
Desert Moon restaurants with flexible store designs and footprints are designed for community retail strip centers, regional mall food courts, urban centers, office complexes, airport terminals, and university settings.

Does the Desert Moon offer financing?
Desert Moon does not provide direct financing to Franchisees.   However, Desert Moon has been approved by the SBA (small business administration) loan guarantee program and we can recommend SBA programs with third-party sources and equipment leasing programs, to qualified franchisees. 

How much will I make?
The Desert Moon cannot furnish or authorize its salespersons or operators to furnish any oral or written information concerning the actual, average, projected, forecasted, or potential sales, costs, income or profits of a franchise. Actual results vary from franchise to franchise, and the Desert Moon cannot estimate the results of a particular franchise.


What is the term of the franchise agreement?
The initial term of the Franchise Agreement is 10 years.  Franchisees that are in good standing may renew at no additional cost by signing the then current form of franchise Agreement.

Is there an advertising fee?
Yes. The marketing/advertising fee is 2% of your gross sales with a 1% brand development fee shared by the system partners payable weekly and will commence when your restaurant opens.

Can I sell my franchise?
Yes, like any business the Desert Moon franchise may be sold but must be sold to an approved franchisee.
